GOG Revives Dino Crisis 1 and 2 for PC

Authore: EmeryUpdate:Apr 28,2025

Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2, the beloved cult classic survival horror games from the PlayStation era, have been resurrected and are now available on PC through GOG. These titles, which originally launched on the PlayStation in 1999 and 2000 respectively, are offered DRM-free on the CD Projekt-owned platform as part of GOG's Preservation Program, ensuring that their original content remains intact.

While fans have longed for a new installment or an HD remake of the Dino Crisis series, Capcom has shown little interest. The 2022 release of Exoprimal, a multiplayer action game involving dinosaurs, was perceived as the final blow to hopes for a Dino Crisis revival. Furthermore, Dino Crisis creator Shinji Mikami expressed in August of the previous year that the success of Capcom's Monster Hunter franchise leaves little room for a reboot or remake of Dino Crisis.

Previously, obtaining and running the PC ports of the first two Dino Crisis games on modern systems was challenging. GOG's efforts to make these games accessible and playable on contemporary hardware are highly appreciated. As GOG stated, "Thanks to the tremendous efforts of Capcom and GOG, Regina’s iconic line, 'You’re extinct!' no longer applies to the game itself. The timeless thriller that defined a generation of gamers is made to last forever, enhanced for today’s systems, featuring all the original content you loved with numerous improvements."
