Secure an Early Advantage in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2: Acquiring the Dogwood Village Bow
Early in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, acquiring superior weaponry is crucial for survival. The prologue leaves Henry ill-equipped, but thankfully, a free Dogwood Village Bow is readily accessible.
After parting ways with Hans, gaining access to the wedding requires securing a blacksmith or miller position. Even without pursuing the blacksmith job, its map marker conveniently leads to the bow's location. This is a worthwhile detour even if you intend to work for the miller.
The blacksmith's workshop is situated in Tachov, north of Troskowitz, where the prologue concludes. West of Troskowitz, follow the road north. At the fork, where a smaller road branches west, turn right towards a cluster of trees. A small training area is concealed within.
Locate the target with arrows; collect these for ammunition. The Dogwood Village Bow rests against a tree trunk to the target's right. Additional resources, such as brew and mushrooms, are also nearby.
Alternative Acquisition Methods
While purchasable from Huntsman’s Son Vitek in Tachov, the Dogwood Village Bow isn't the most powerful ranged weapon. Considering its proximity to the free alternative, purchasing it isn't cost-effective. Vitek, however, offers superior weapons, and alchemy provides a viable income stream.
Regardless of your weapon choice, ranged combat options significantly enhance gameplay, especially given the game's difficulty settings. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's combat retains similarities to its predecessor, making ranged combat a valuable strategy.
After acquiring the bow, continue to Tachov to work as a blacksmith (save after forging a sword) or proceed to the miller to advance the main quest. The Dogwood Village Bow provides a distinct advantage.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
