The popular Kinetic Blade, previously featured in Chapter 4 Season 2, returns to Fortnite Battle Royale in Chapter 6 Season 1 (Fortnite Hunters). This isn't the only Katana available; players can choose between the Kinetic Blade and the new Typhoon Blade.
This guide covers locating and using the Kinetic Blade, helping you decide if it's a superior choice to the Typhoon Blade.
How to Find the Kinetic Blade in Fortnite
The Kinetic Blade appears in both Battle Royale Build and Zero Build modes. It can be found as floor loot or within standard and Rare chests.
Currently, the Kinetic Blade's spawn rate seems relatively low. Furthermore, the absence of dedicated Kinetic Blade stands (unlike the Typhoon Blade) makes it significantly harder to locate.
How to Use the Kinetic Blade in Fortnite
The Kinetic Blade is a melee weapon enabling swift movement and surprise attacks.
Unlike the Typhoon Blade, which requires sprinting for increased speed, the Kinetic Blade utilizes a Dash Attack for a forward lunge. This attack inflicts 60 damage on impact and can be used up to three times consecutively before needing to recharge.
Alternatively, the Knockback Slash deals 35 damage and knocks back opponents. This attack can result in fall damage and even eliminations if the opponent is knocked off a high point.
