Depending on their skill level and chosen difficulty setting, Dynasty Warriors: Origins players may sustain significant damage during gameplay. Newcomers to the series will likely want to master healing mechanics quickly.
Fortunately, healing in Dynasty Warriors: Origins is simple - players just need to use special consumable items. The game also features an auto-heal function, perfect for those who prefer not to monitor their health bar constantly.
Healing Methods in Dynasty Warriors: Origins

As with previous Dynasty Warriors titles, players recover health by collecting meat buns found in breakable pots near enemy bases. On Historian and Wayfarer difficulties, defeated officers may occasionally drop these items, though this feature is unavailable on Hero and Ultimate Warrior settings.

Players can consume meat buns anytime during combat (D-Pad Up), provided they're carrying at least one. Full inventories trigger automatic consumption unless health is already maxed. The default storage capacity is three meat buns, expandable through the Meat Bun Glutton skill.

For convenient healing, players can activate "Auto-Use Meat Buns" in the Configuration menu, which activates healing below a set health threshold. This optional feature doesn't prevent manual consumption when desired.
