The Premise:
Players take on the role of exiled dwarves, banished by their king to treacherous lands. The challenge? Keeping a community of disgruntled dwarves alive and building a prosperous settlement. You'll manage the entire settlement, assigning tasks, gathering resources, crafting tools, and expanding your dwelling to accommodate more residents. However, be mindful of your settlement's capacity; a full settlement prevents new recruits from joining, even after successful quest completions.
Strategic Dwarf Management:
Each dwarf possesses unique stats (perception, strength, etc.) impacting their job performance. Efficient resource management requires matching dwarves to appropriate equipment and roles to maximize productivity. The game features a diverse range of occupations, from mining to crafting. Furthermore, you can assign young dwarves to mentors for accelerated skill development, though they won't contribute to the workforce until reaching adulthood (age 20).
Expanding Your Dwarf Population:
While quests offer one method of acquiring new dwarves, you can also hire them using in-game currency. Maintaining adequate food supplies is crucial to prevent starvation. A helpful feature is that deceased dwarves return their equipment to your inventory.
