"Discovering and Creating Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria"

Authore: LilyUpdate:May 16,2025

Essence Stones are exciting new additions to *Fields of Mistria* introduced with the game's March 2025 update. These essential items are crucial for activating several new features, making them indispensable for your daily tasks. Let's dive into how to find, craft, and utilize Essence Stones of various sizes within the game.

Where To Find Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Following the March 2025 update for *Fields of Mistria*, you can discover Essence Stones tucked away inside chests scattered throughout the mines. I stumbled upon my first one while searching for offering items to break the Fire Seal on Floor 60, but keep in mind, these chests can appear on any level across the existing biomes and floors. Be cautious of mimic enemies, which cunningly mimic chests but will harm you if you interact with them.

Essence Stones come in four sizes: tiny, small, medium, and large. Smaller stones are more common, but with some diligence, you can uncover larger ones. If your search yields little, you can also craft these stones at the Stone Refinery within the mines.

Crafting Essence Stones becomes possible at the Stone Refinery in *Fields of Mistria*. This new feature is part of a story quest introduced in the March 2025 update, where you'll need to construct the refinery inside the mines with the help of Adeline, Olric, and Errol, after completing the necessary prerequisites.

To build the Stone Refinery, gather the following materials:

  • x200 Wood
  • x400 Stone
  • x5,000 Tesserae

Once the refinery is operational, you can craft Essence Stones of different sizes. Each requires Stone and Essence, but the quantities vary depending on the size of the stone you're crafting. Here's a breakdown of the crafting requirements:

Tiny Essence Stonex5 Stone
x5 Essence
Small Essence Stonex10 Stone
x25 Essence
Medium Essence Stonex20 Stone
x50 Essence
Large Essence Stonex40 Stone
x100 Essence

Beyond Essence Stones, the Stone Refinery allows you to craft various common materials, Refined Stone, and rare items like Obsidian and Diamond, making it a vital hub for crafting supplies needed for new builds and projects around Mistria.

How To Use Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

With the March 2025 update, *Fields of Mistria* finally introduced the auto-petter and sprinkler mechanics, both of which depend on Essence Stones to operate. Larger stones provide a longer charge, maximizing the number of days you can benefit from a single stone.

The auto-petter mechanic is linked to the Animal Sprite Statue, which you can place inside Large Barns and Coops. As long as an Essence Stone is powering it, all animals within will be automatically petted each day. You can find this rare statue in a concealed cave next to Errol’s house in the Narrows, accessible by using the Dragon’s Breath spell on the entrance. Once unlocked, you can craft additional statues as needed.

The sprinkler mechanic is activated by the Water Sprite Statue, which can be placed anywhere on your farm to water crops within a 2-tile radius when powered by an Essence Stone. You can craft more of these statues to cover more of your farm. Locate the statue and its crafting scroll on a small island to the east of the beach, beyond the Lighthouse area. Use Dragon’s Breath to enter the island's hidden area.

As *Fields of Mistria* continues to evolve with updates from NPC Studio, Essence Stones are poised to play an increasingly significant role in enhancing your gameplay experience.
