During the DIGIMON CON 2025 Livestream on March 20, Bandai Namco introduced Digimon Alysion, a forthcoming free-to-play mobile TCG that aims to expand the Digimon universe into the mobile gaming space. Inspired by the success of other mobile card games like Pokémon TCG Pocket and Marvel Snap, Digimon Alysion promises to offer fans a fresh way to engage with their favorite franchise.

In this digital trading card game, players will have the opportunity to collect cards featuring a variety of Digimon and characters, build their decks, and challenge other players. What sets Digimon Alysion apart is its speculated inclusion of an in-depth story mode, providing players with more than just competitive gameplay.

The announcement was accompanied by a new trailer that gave fans a glimpse into the gameplay and introduced an all-female cast speculated to be central to the story mode. New characters such as Kanata Hondo, Futre, and Valner Dragnogh were revealed, along with a new Digimon, Gemmon.

While no official release window has been announced for Digimon Alysion, a closed beta test is on the horizon, with more details to follow.

The excitement continued with more insights into Digimon Story: Time Stranger. During the livestream, producer Ryosuke Hara discussed the game’s narrative, its main characters, and the unique abilities of some of the Digimon featured in the game.

Hara confirmed that players will start their journey with one of three popular Digimon from the original Digimon Adventure anime: Patamon, Gomamon, or DemiDevimon. These choices align with fan speculations based on the game's promotional artwork.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger is set to boast an impressive roster of over 450 Digimon, surpassing its predecessor, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker’s Memory, which included 330 Digimon. The new trailer showcased some of these Digimon, including Angewomon, Gallantmon, and the beloved Agumon.

The game's story revolves around two protagonists, Dan Yuki and Kanan Yuki, who are secret agents for ADAMAS, an organization dedicated to uncovering threats to both humans and Digimon. The main heroine, Inori Misono, and her partner Aegiomon, will also play a significant role in the adventure. The narrative will delve into the concept of time, with the protagonist being thrown back and forth through different eras.

DIGIMON CON 2025 also highlighted other upcoming projects within the Digimon franchise, including the Digimon Anime’s 25th Anniversary PV, new starter decks and booster packs for the Digimon Trading Card Game, and the announcement of a new anime series, Digimon Beatbreak, set to premiere in October 2025. With these exciting developments, the Digimon franchise is poised for a vibrant future.
