First things first, when you dive into Diablo 4 Season 7, head straight to the nearest town with a Wardrobe and grab your pet. Pets don't contribute to combat directly, but they're invaluable for automatically collecting your gold and materials. This saves you precious time that you can now dedicate to fighting and looting.

Grab Your Mercenaries

If you own the Vessel of Hatred expansion, don't miss out on visiting the Den to recruit Mercenaries. Solo players can benefit from having two Mercenaries by their side, making combat and leveling up much smoother. Plus, building Rapport with them can unlock additional rewards.

Follow the Seasonal Questline and Level Up

Begin on Normal difficulty and follow the new seasonal questline in Diablo 4 Season 7, marked by green leaf icons on your map. This questline introduces you to the season's new mechanics, including Headhunt zones, Grim Favors for the Tree of Whispers, and the new Witch powers. While the questline isn't overly long, it involves some puzzles and primarily revolves around farming Favors in Headhunt zones.

This approach is not only engaging but also the fastest way to reach level 60. Keep tackling Headhunt zone bosses, collecting Favors, and upgrading your Witch powers simultaneously.

Unlock Your Class Power

A handy quality-of-life update means you no longer need to repeat class-specific priority quests if you've completed them on a previous character. Just remember to log in with that character on the Eternal realm first. For example, if you're planning to play a Rogue in Season 7, log in with a previously created Rogue who has already completed these quests. Then, log in with your new Season 7 Rogue, and your class power will unlock automatically once you hit the required level.

Headhunt Zones

While navigating Headhunt zones, make sure you're actively completing Whispers. With four zones always active, focus on the smaller, more compact ones for higher enemy density, which allows for quicker mob farming and Whisper completion.

Prioritize these two Whisper quests:

  • Fugitive: Involves recovering a head or destroying a husk, activated by defeating Elites and interacting with roots.
  • Shepherd: A straightforward task of escorting animals across the map.

Once you accumulate 10 Grim Favors, exchange them at the Tree of Whispers for a cache. Also, remember that each Headhunt zone features a Raven of the Tree, allowing you to turn in your Favors locally without needing to return to the Tree of Whispers.

Witchcraft Powers

At the Tree of Whispers, interact with the Altars of Witchcraft to purchase and upgrade your Witchcraft powers using Restless Rot, dropped by new Rot enemies. While the initial purchase is affordable, upgrading these powers can be costly. Focus on powers that offer direct damage boosts for significant passive damage increases.

Additionally, some Witch powers are exclusive to Forgotten Altars, which you might encounter in regular dungeons, Nightmare Dungeons, Pits, and Rootholds at Torment 1 difficulty. Use a Draught of Whispers to boost your chances of finding these altars.

Rootholds

Rootholds, a new dungeon type in Diablo 4 Season 7, are accessible by using Whispering Woods obtained from Whispers and Silent Chests. Think of Rootholds as a rogue-lite experience, akin to Infernal Hordes, where you can select negative modifiers that enhance your loot quality. As you progress, open Exposed Roots for loot, influenced by the chosen modifiers.

It's wise to save your Roothold keys for Torment 1, as they're your prime source of Ancestral loot this season.

Occult Gems

Late in your progression, you can craft Occult Gems with Gelena at the Tree of Whispers. These gems, which you slot into your jewelry, outperform standard gems but are pricey to create, requiring a lot of Restless Rot and Heads, which drop from Roothold bosses and Fugitives in Headhunt zones. A Draught of Whispers can also increase your chances of obtaining Heads from bosses.

Pits, Infernal Hordes, and Nightmare Dungeons

Remember to incorporate Pits and Nightmare Dungeons into your routine. Nightmare Dungeons are your source for Glyphs, while Pits are where you level them up. Also, farm Infernal Hordes for masterworking materials to enhance your Uniques.
