Delta Force, previously known as Delta Force: Hawk Ops, is now accepting pre-registrations for iOS and Android devices. This relaunch by Level Infinite, a Tencent subsidiary, marks a significant foray into the modern military shooter market, with a planned release in late January 2025. The game boasts a blend of missions and modes, emphasizing tactical gameplay.
For those unfamiliar, the Delta Force franchise is a veteran of the FPS genre, predating even Call of Duty. Drawing inspiration from the real-life US military unit, the games have always focused on realistic weaponry and gadgets. Tencent's revival features Warfare mode (large-scale combat) and Operations mode (extraction-based gameplay). A single-player campaign, heavily inspired by the movie Black Hawk Down, is also slated for 2025.
Addressing Cheating Concerns
Despite high anticipation, Delta Force has faced controversy, primarily concerning cheating. Tencent's aggressive anti-cheat measures, implemented via G.T.I. Security, have drawn criticism for their intensity. While these measures might be less impactful on mobile platforms due to the reduced likelihood of cheating, the initial negative reception could still affect the game's overall success.
