For word game enthusiasts, Codenames needs no introduction. This classic spy-themed board game is now available as a digital app from CGE Digital, based on the original design by Vlaada Chvátil.
What is Codenames?
Codenames challenges two teams to identify their secret agents hidden amongst a grid of code names. Using one-word clues provided by your spymaster, you must deduce which words represent your agents, while avoiding civilian bystanders and, crucially, the assassin. It's a test of wit and word association.
The app version boasts new words, game modes, and unlockable achievements, even incorporating a career mode with leveling, rewards, and special gadgets. The asynchronous multiplayer allows up to 24 hours per turn, letting you juggle multiple games simultaneously, compete globally, and tackle daily solo challenges.
