"Code Geass: Lost Stories to End Global Mobile Run Soon!"

Fans of the strategic tower defense game Code Geass: Lost Stories, inspired by the renowned anime and manga series Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, have received disappointing news. The game, developed by f4samurai and DMM Games and published by Komoe, will cease operations for its global mobile players. While the global version is shutting down, the Japanese iteration will continue to thrive. Originally launched worldwide in September 2023, Code Geass: Lost Stories won't even reach its first anniversary.

When Is It Shutting Down?

Code Geass: Lost Stories will officially shut down on August 29th, 2024. Players have until this date to enjoy the game, as access to accounts will be terminated afterward. Additionally, the game's global social media accounts are set to close on the same day. As of now, new downloads and in-game purchases are no longer available. Despite its closure globally, the game maintains a strong following in Japan.

Why Is Code Geass: Lost Stories Shutting Down?

Despite blending RPG, action, and tower defense elements based on a beloved anime, Code Geass: Lost Stories is closing its doors. Although the developers haven't explicitly stated the reasons, the low number of downloads and less favorable reviews of the global version likely played a role. Licensed anime gacha games often face challenges in retaining a global player base, especially outside Japan, where players typically engage more and spend more. Therefore, the early shutdown of Code Geass: Lost Stories may not come as a shock to many.

For those in Japan interested in experiencing the game, it's available on the Google Play Store.
