The Quematrice, a large chicken-like monster, is inspired by the Cockatrice but thankfully breathes fire instead of petrifying its foes. Most weapons are effective, but its attacks often affect a wide area. Ranged weapons may be preferred by less experienced hunters.
Key Attacks to Avoid:
- Tail Slam: A powerful attack used when the Quematrice raises its tail high before slamming it down. Sidestep or block to avoid damage.
- Fire Attacks: These inflict damage and inflict burning, continuously draining health. They can also ignite the ground. These attacks have subtle cues: a slight head rear and roar before a forward fire blast, a full sweep after a head and tail raise, or a charging attack followed by a last-second fire blast.
