Authore: CharlotteUpdate:Jan 21,2025

Indie game developer Sander Frenken has revealed that his upcoming strategy game, Battledom, is currently undergoing alpha testing. This RTS-lite title serves as a spiritual successor to Frenken's 2020 hit, Herodom. Developed over approximately two years by the part-time developer, Battledom closely resembles his original vision for Herodom, a popular tower defense game.

Battledom introduces flexible RTS battle mechanics, granting players freedom to maneuver units across the game map. Players directly target enemies and manually operate siege weapons for devastating attacks. Strategic formations further enhance the gameplay.

Players earn coins to recruit units, initially equipped with basic weapons and no armor. However, customization options allow for equipping units with various weapons and armor pieces, impacting stats such as attack power, range, accuracy, and defense.

Quarry with stones in buckets and an elevator lifting a bucket of stoneResource gathering is key to unit upgrades. Players collect resources like wood, leather, and coal within their village to craft items at the blacksmith, magician, and other specialized workshops.

Frenken is widely recognized for Herodom, which holds a 4.6 App Store rating. This game features over 55 collectible heroes, 150+ units and siege weapons, and historically-themed battles. Players unlock new character customizations and farm enhancements as they progress.

iOS users can participate in the Battledom alpha test via TestFlight. For updates and further information, follow Sander Frenken on X or Reddit, or explore his other games on the App Store.
