Bandai Namco's fortress strategy RPG, Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage, is officially shutting down on December 9th, 2024, marking the end of nearly seven years of gameplay. This isn't entirely unexpected, mirroring the fate of other Naruto gacha games like Naruto Blazing, which also faced challenges and ultimately ceased operation.
The Final Countdown:
The game's final months will feature several events:
- Village Leader World Championship: October 8th - 18th
- All-Out Mission: October 18th - November 1st
- "Thanks For Everything" Campaign: November 1st - December 1st
Players can continue collecting Ninja Cards, participating in summoning events, and utilizing in-game items until the December 9th shutdown. Any remaining Gold Coins should be spent before the game's closure.
Reasons for Closure:
While initially successful with its balanced village-building, trap-setting, and defense mechanics, the game's trajectory shifted. The introduction of Minato Namikaze seemingly initiated a period of power creep, alienating many players. This was further exacerbated by increasingly overt pay-to-win mechanics, reduced free-to-play rewards, and a decline in multiplayer features. These factors contributed to the game's eventual demise. The game remains available on the Google Play Store for those wishing to experience it before its closure. For more gaming news, check out our article on Wings of Heroes' new Squadron Wars feature.
