Schizophrenic Fan Inspired by Arkham Knight, Receives Kevin Conroy

In 2020, a fan of Batman: Arkham Knight who was living with schizophrenia reached out to Kevin Conroy, the iconic voice of Batman, through the Cameo service. The fan, deeply affected by the game's narrative about overcoming fears, paranoia, and hallucinations, saw a parallel with his own struggles. He sent a message to Conroy, expressing how the game had given him the strength to keep fighting his condition.

Anticipating a standard 30-second video, the fan was overwhelmed when Conroy responded with over six minutes of heartfelt encouragement. Moved by the fan's story, Conroy went beyond a formal response, offering words of support and understanding that became a lifeline for the fan during some of his darkest moments.

"This video has saved me from suicide countless times," the fan shared. "Hearing Batman say he believed in me was incredibly powerful... But as time went on, it became just as important that it was Kevin himself who believed in me."

Initially hesitant to share the video, the fan decided to post it on Reddit after learning that Conroy had a personal connection to schizophrenia, as his brother suffered from the condition. He hoped that the video could offer solace and inspiration to others facing similar challenges.

"If someone in his family asks me to delete this video, I will of course do so," the fan stated. "But it has inspired me in my toughest moments, and maybe it will inspire someone else. Hang in there. Because Batman believes in you."

Tragically, Kevin Conroy passed away on November 10, 2022, at the age of 66. Yet, his legacy and the powerful message he left behind continue to inspire millions worldwide.
