Netmarble Shuts Down

Netmarble's popular fighting game, King of Fighters ALLSTAR, is closing its doors this October. The announcement, made on Netmarble's official forums, confirmed October 30th, 2024, as the final day. In-app purchases were disabled even earlier, on June 26th, 2024.

The Reason Behind the Shutdown

After a successful six-year run featuring numerous high-profile crossovers from other fighting games, King of Fighters ALLSTAR is ending its service. While the game generally received positive reviews for its impressive animations and PvP battles, the developers hinted at a potential shortage of characters to adapt from the original King of Fighters series as a contributing factor. However, this is likely just one element of a larger, undisclosed picture.

The game wasn't without its challenges. Recent optimization issues and crashes led to player frustration. Despite these setbacks, the title still achieved millions of downloads on Google Play and the App Store.

Players still wanting to experience King of Fighters ALLSTAR have approximately four months left before the servers shut down. Download it from the Google Play Store and enjoy the legendary battles before October.
