Bring Large Dung Pods

Hirabami poses a significant challenge in Monster Hunter Wilds due to their preference for grouping. To manage this, Large Dung Pods are essential. These items will help disperse the monsters, allowing you to tackle them individually and increase your chances of success.

Use Heavy Slicing Pod Slinger Ammo

Hirabami's tendency to float in the air can make the fight particularly frustrating for melee weapon users. To counter this, equip yourself with Heavy Slicing Pod Slinger ammo. This can be obtained by shooting Hirabami’s tail with your Slinger, which will drop a Tail Claw Shard that converts into the needed ammo.

Utilize Environmental Traps

The Hirabami's arena at Iceshard Cliffs is equipped with environmental traps such as Ice Spikes, Floating Rubble, and Brittle Ice Pillars. Dropping one of these on the Hirabami can stun and deal significant damage, giving you a strategic advantage in the fight.

Aim for the Head

Targeting Hirabami's head is crucial for dealing maximum damage, though it's often out of reach due to the monster's habit of staying airborne. Ranged weapon users have an easier time, but melee users should aim for the neck when the creature descends. Avoid the torso as it has high defense.

Watch the Tail

Hirabami’s unpredictable movements can be challenging. It frequently attempts to bite or spit at you and may execute a dive attack from high above. Keep moving to dodge these attacks, but also be cautious of its tail, which it uses like a hammer to smash you.

To capture Hirabami, reduce its health to 20 percent or less, indicated by a skull icon next to its icon on the mini-map. Quickly set up a Pitfall Trap or a Shock Trap to immobilize it. Then, use a Tranquilizer within a few seconds to render it unconscious. Successfully capturing Hirabami will end the fight and grant you the standard rewards, though it may reduce your chances of obtaining additional materials from breaking its weak spots.

This comprehensive guide should equip you with everything necessary to defeat and capture Hirabami in Monster Hunter Wilds. Remember to utilize Large Dung Pods or the SOS feature to make the fight more manageable.
