Capcom has recently submitted an application to register the Dino Crisis trademark in Japan, a move that has now been made public. Although this doesn’t confirm the development of a new game, it indicates that the company is seriously considering opportunities within the franchise. By securing this trademark, Capcom may be preparing for future projects, possibly even a remake of the beloved dinosaur survival horror series. Created by Shinji Mikami, who also helmed Resident Evil, Dino Crisis first launched in 1999 on PlayStation 1. The series saw two additional installments but went quiet after the third release in 2003, leaving fans eager for more.

Speculation surrounding Dino Crisis isn’t unfounded. Last year, Capcom expressed its goal to "reinvigorate older franchises that haven’t had new releases recently." This statement followed announcements for Okami Sequel and Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Moreover, a fan poll conducted by Capcom over the summer of 2024 placed Dino Crisis at the top of the "most desired continuation" list, reigniting hope for its comeback.
