Alienware Aurora R16 RTX 4090 Gaming PC Now $1,000 Off

High-end prebuilt PCs often come with a hefty price tag, but savvy shoppers can still snag incredible deals that offer significant savings. Currently, Dell is slashing $1,000 off the price of the Alienware Aurora R16 GeForce RTX 4090 gaming PC, bringing it down to $3,699.99. This is particularly noteworthy because RTX 4090 graphics cards are on the rise again, with standalone cards from reputable vendors costing at least $2,000. This makes the DIY route less cost-effective than you might expect. Plus, opting for a prebuilt PC means you benefit from a comprehensive warranty, adding extra peace of mind to your purchase.

This Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC is a powerhouse, featuring an Intel Core i9-14900KF CPU, a GeForce RTX 4090 GPU, 64GB of DDR5-5200MHz RAM, and a whopping 4TB NVMe SSD. The 14th gen Intel Core i9-14900KF is currently the top-tier Intel gaming and productivity CPU available. While it runs hot, it's expertly cooled by a robust 240mm all-in-one liquid cooler. The system is powered by a reliable 1,000W 80PLUS Platinum power supply.

The RTX 4090 stands unrivaled as the most potent GPU on the market, outpacing all competitors from both NVIDIA and AMD. Chris Coke's review highlights its prowess, stating, "The RTX 4090 may be huge and expensive, but holy smokes if it doesn’t blow the competition out of the water... Until the rest of the pack can catch up, between its impressive hardware specs and its DLSS 3 AI wizardry, even the $1,599 price doesn’t seem unreasonable for the unrivaled frame rates that this card can crank out." With this GPU, you can enjoy any game at 4K resolution with ultra settings and ray tracing enabled, delivering high frame rates even for the most demanding new releases like Black Myth: Wukong or Warhammer Space Marine 2. It's also the go-to consumer card for AI, thanks to its 24GB of GDDR6X VRAM.

A note on RTX 5000 series GPUs

NVIDIA's next-generation GPUs, starting with the RTX 5090, are slated for release at the end of January. While the RTX 5090 promises even greater power, it comes with a steep $2,000 price tag for the Founder's Edition at launch, and availability might be limited. The RTX 5080, launching at $999, could also face supply constraints. We'll soon benchmark these cards, but they'll feature less VRAM than the 4090 (16GB vs 24GB) and may not immediately surpass the 4090's dominance.

A note on Alienware's newest "R16" desktop chassis

Alienware's 2024 desktop PC design, the R16, is 40% smaller than its predecessors. It employs an effective airflow pattern, drawing air in through side intake vents over the GPU and a 120mm front fan, and expelling it via a 120mm rear fan and two 120mm top fans. The 240mm radiator for the all-in-one liquid cooling system is mounted to the top fans. While some configurations skip the liquid cooling, our recommendations typically include it due to its superior performance over the stock air cooling. Note that Dell unveiled a new Area 51 chassis during CES 2025, but it closely resembles the R16 in both appearance and design.
