HBO's critically acclaimed The Last of Us series is poised for a four-season run, according to an executive.

Francesca Orsi, an HBO executive, hinted at a four-season plan for the popular adaptation, although she emphasized that no definitive plan is finalized. "While I can't confirm it definitively, it's looking like three seasons beyond the current one, and then we'll be done," Orsi stated in an interview with Deadline.

Regarding the anticipated Season 2 premiere in April 2025, Orsi teased, "The various factions vying for survival will be revealed, showcasing a captivating survivalist group with a unique and distinct presentation." She highlighted the show's distinctive approach to wardrobe and makeup for these characters, setting them apart from typical portrayals.

Catch up on Season 1 before Season 2 premieres in April. Unlike the first season, which covered the entirety of the first game, Season 2 will span The Last of Us Part II, divided into a planned seven-episode arc concluding at a “natural breakpoint.”

Season 2 introduces several new cast members, including Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Danny Ramirez as Manny, and Tati Gabrielle as Mel. Catherine O'Hara's role remains shrouded in mystery.

IGN's review of The Last of Us Season 1 lauded the show as "a stunning adaptation, thrilling newcomers and enriching the experience for fans alike," awarding it a 9/10 rating.
