Big news for fans of the Now You See Me franchise: Lionsgate has officially titled the third installment Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, and they've also announced that a fourth film is in development. This exciting update was shared by Adam Fogelson, chair of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, during CinemaCon. He confirmed that Now You See Me: Now You Don’t is set to hit theaters on November 14, 2025, as previously scheduled.
Ruben Fleischer, who is directing Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, has signed on to helm the fourth movie as well. The franchise has already amassed an impressive $700 million at the global box office, and fans are eager to see what new tricks and heists are in store.
The original films featured a talented cast including Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, and Morgan Freeman. The third installment will introduce a new generation of illusionists, played by Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, and Ariana Greenblatt, alongside Rosamund Pike. Fleischer, who previously worked with Eisenberg and Harrelson in his debut film Zombieland, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, citing his love for heist movies and magic.
Bobby Cohen, the producer behind all the films in the series, will return to produce Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, joined by Alex Kurtzman of Secret Hideout. Meredith Wieck will oversee the project for Lionsgate.
Adam Fogelson praised Fleischer's work, saying, “Ruben has delivered all of the twists and turns and sleight-of-hand that audiences expect from this franchise while upping the stakes and scale in every way. We can’t wait for audiences to discover what he’s done with the third film and thrilled he’ll be making even more magic with us.”
Fleischer shared his excitement, stating, “Directing Now You See Me: Now You Don’t was as much fun as making any movie in my career. It combines two of my favorite things — heist movies and magic — and working with this incredible cast was truly magical. Of course I want to keep it going.”
While IGN’s reviews of the first two films were less enthusiastic, with scores of 6.3/10 and 6.2/10 respectively, fans remain hopeful that the new installments will bring more depth and excitement to the beloved franchise.
