Pokémon Champions, Game Freak's Leaked Multiplayer Game, Officially Revealed

Authore: DylanUpdate:Mar 25,2025

After months of speculation and leaks, fans have been treated to the first glimpse of Pokémon Champions, a new multiplayer battle-centric game developed through a collaboration between Game Freak and The Pokémon Works. The latter is a fresh joint venture between The Pokémon Company and ILCA, the studio behind Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

Pokémon Champions is designed to immerse players in the series' beloved "core-style battles," enabling online confrontations between players. The game's trailer showcased the inclusion of both Mega Evolution and Terastalization, suggesting a comprehensive coverage of Pokémon battle mechanics spanning various types and generations.

PlayOne of the exciting features of **Pokémon Champions** is its integration with **Pokémon Home**. This connectivity will allow players to bring their Pokémon from other games into **Pokémon Champions**, providing a new battleground for the countless Pokémon that have been stored in players' collections from previous generations.

Currently in development for both Nintendo Switch and mobile platforms, Pokémon Champions did not receive a specific release date during its announcement. It will be available in Latin American Spanish at launch, alongside other languages previously supported in Pokémon games.

The game appears to be the same as Pokémon Synapse, which was initially leaked as part of the "Freak Leak" last year. This leak exposed a wealth of internal Game Freak information, including unreleased games, meeting notes, and Pokémon designs. At the time, it was known that Pokémon Synapse was being co-developed by Game Freak and ILCA, with early indications pointing towards a multiplayer format. While some speculated it would be similar to Splatoon, it seems those comparisons were not entirely accurate.
