En réponse à la rétroaction des joueurs, Final Fantasy 14 devrait introduire une mise à jour significative du système de récompense dans le patch 7.16, prévue pour la sortie le 21 janvier. Ce patch permettra aux joueurs d'échanger CloudDark DeMiMateria 1 pour CloudDark DeMiMateria 2, un changement qui découle directement de la contribution de la communauté. Cette nouvelle fonctionnalité permettra aux joueurs d'acquérir plus facilement des articles à haute demande tels que la moitié de la coiffure à deux fois et la monture Dais of Darkness, qui nécessitent respectivement 49 et 75 Clouddark Demimaderia 2.

Présenté le 24 décembre, le raid Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic) Alliance a été un ajout difficile au jeu, mettant en vedette jusqu'à 24 joueurs qui luttent contre le boss final emblématique de World of Darkness de A Realm Reborn.
