アプリケーションの説明

This application is a component of a museum installation exploring the Analogous City.

This app belongs to a museum installation about The Analogous City, an artwork by Aldo Rossi, Eraldo Consolascio, Bruno Reichlin, and Fabio Reinhart, originally made for the 1976 Venice Biennale of Architecture. Using augmented reality, it works together with a reproduction of The Analogous City—available at http://archizoom.epfl.ch—to show the complete references included in the collage across multiple layers suspended above the artwork.

The app is required to engage with the digital installation for the traveling exhibition "Aldo Rossi - The window of the poet, Prints 1973-1997," on display at the Bonnefanten Museum in Maastricht, Archizoom EPFL in Lausanne, and GAMeC in Bergamo.

By acquiring the reproduction as a printed map of the Analogous City, published by Archizoom, you can re-experience the museum installation's interaction anytime, anywhere. The printed map also features texts by Aldo Rossi, Fabio Reinhart, and Dario Rodighiero.

The Analogous City (La Città Analoga) was developed as a true urban planning project. Its components include, among others: Giovanni Battista Caporali’s Drawing of Vitruvius’ city (1536), Galileo Galilei’s sketch of the Pleiades Constellation (1610), Tanzio da Varallo’s painting David and Goliath (c. 1625), Francesco Borromini’s plan of San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane (1638-1641), the Dufour topographic map (1864), the master plan of Le Corbusier’s chapel of Notre Dame du Haut (1954), and several architectural projects by Aldo Rossi and his collaborators.

“Between past and present, reality and imagination, the analogous city may simply be the city designed day by day—confronting challenges and moving past them—with reasonable confidence that things will eventually improve.” – Aldo Rossi on the Analogous City, Lotus International n. 13, 1976.
